Framed vs. Frameless Cabinets

Do You Prefer Framed or Frameless Cabinetry for Your Kitchen or Bath?

When choosing cabinets for your kitchen, did you know that you can choose from either framed or frameless cabinets? While you might think that everyone knows there are different styles to choose from, many people don’t know that frameless cabinets are a thing.

Framed cabinets are designed with a cabinet box that then has a frame placed on the front. The frame supports the weight of the kitchen doors and has a traditional feel to it. This allows some flexibility for adjustments to door and drawer placement. With the frame on the front, it can give these cabinets a bulky look.

Frameless cabinets have no front frame, and the doors are directly attached to the cabinet box. Without the frame on the front, there is a lot less flexibility in terms of configuration, design, and door/drawer openings. On the other side of this, the overall appearance is more sleek and contemporary as opposed to bulky.
